Our nursing team are experiencing significantly reduced appointment capacity due to staff absence.
Due to ongoing staff absence, we currently have around 50% of our usual Practice Nurse appointments available, and this reduced capacity is expected to continue into January 2026. We know that many of our patients are used to being seen by our nursing team within 2–3 days, and we appreciate that this temporary change in service may be inconvenient.
While GP Practices are not required to provide appointments for blood tests requested by hospital departments, we understand that travelling to Forth Valley Royal Hospital can be difficult for some - we do our best to accommodate these requests locally whenever we can. However, this may not always be possible during periods of significantly reduced service.
For those who are able to do so, we kindly ask that you utilise the Phlebotomy Service at Forth Valley Royal Hospital for hospital‑requested blood tests.
Thank you for your understanding and patience while we work through this period of reduced capacity.
